09/16/15: Had a great hike today at Settlers Cabin Park. For a quick hike with a great deal of natural diversity, I would highly recommend the 2 mile green loop. There is an excellent wet area of the hillside that is blanketed with a thick green carpet like moss which creates a feeling of fantasy – original inspiration for bringing along my little angel. There is also an interesting little creek with a waterfall at the bottom of the hill and an abundance of mushrooms throughout. I was there hiking in the early summer when it was still wet and saw an amazing variety of mushrooms and moss, but what really surprised me was when I returned in September and still found several different mushroom varieties. Can’t wait to take someone there for pictures.
